Improved Mental Health
Through the Maharishi Rejuvenation Program
This study tested 62 subjects before and after participating in a Maharishi Rejuvenation program for one week compared to 71 controls who received only intellectual knowledge of the program for the same amount of time. Changes in mental health were assessed by the Profile of Mood States, a standard psychometric instrument. The results showed statistically significant declines in unhealthy emotional states -- anxiety, depression, fatigue, and confusion -- and an increase in vigor.
These results indicate the Maharishi Rejuvenation program improves many aspects of the mind and emotions simultaneously. They demonstrate that a physical approach -- the purification therapies of seasonal rejuvenation -- can have a positive effect on mental health.
Other studies on this program have found increases in intelligence, memory, and alertness (see page 174) and improvements in general health and well-being (see page 170). Taken as a whole, these results indicate that the Maharishi Rejuvenation program promotes better health holistically, by balancing and strengthening both mind and body.

Dr. Reddy's Comments:
More and more doctors are recommending the Maharishi Rejuvenation program on a seasonal basis. According to the tradition of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care, this xseasonal rejuvenation removes accumulated impurities and helps correct imbalances that have built up in the body over time. The treatment is both preventive and therapeutic -- it strengthens the body to prevent future disorders as it addresses existing imbalances. This may explain the wide range of benefits that is demonstrated in this and other studies on seasonal rejuvenation.
